Description

Densely foliaged, 6-12 m tall, evergreen tree. The initially red leaves later turn a rich dark green. In cultivation, the tree is usually grown like a shrub. The flowers and fruits are inconspicuous. The bark is harvested in spring from April to June and in late autumn from October to December.
